Hello everybody!
This month we've been a little lazy and haven't updated much. But we did do a little! Here's what we've changed this month.

Area 51 (PS2) - I've added a little more detail to the theme, Try it out by selecting it from the Theme Switcher.
Battlefield 2 (PS2) - Total remake of the About page, It now looks like the rest of our site and best of all has a brand new theme!
Homepage - Last month we released a revised version of our homepage and this month we've changed it ever so slightly. Further changes to come!

Just bought myself a PS Vita! Here is my review so far...

At first when i opened it i thought it would be about the same size as the PSP but after opening it i realized wow this mother is big!
It's waaaay different then a PSP but i like it so far, The shiny screen and feel of it is nice, Dual joy sticks and dual cameras are a nice features too.

What i'm not liking... It requires a memory stick for everything, and when i say everything i mean evvvveeerrryyything... You can't download even the smallest of apps or games which sucks cause i wanted to try this bad boy out. As usual Sony was so kind as to NOT include even the smallest memory stick possible... Which means yes you'll have to buy one on your own which cost anywhere from $20-60 depending on which sizes there are.

So as i try this out i'd say its alright, Not a must own device as of yet but maybe after i get a memory stick, download some games, apps and play a little ill begin to like it.


Pros:
Dual Cameras
Dual Joy Sticks
Cross Play (it's nice switching from the PS3 to the Vita and not having to replay the entire game)
Touch Screen (could of lived without it but hey its there so why not.)
Touch Panel on the back (i have no idea what this is used for... -_-)
The PS button lights up (very nice feature in the dark lol)
Stereo speakers on front (nice upgrade from the speakers being on the bottom like the PSP)
Expandable memory (it's always nice to upgrade your storage when your running low)

Cons:
No memory stick comes with it.
Needs a memory stick for almost everything, Including camera, music, videos, playstation store in general.
Kinda big (its alot bigger then the PSP that's fer sure!)
Bubble icons (it would of been nice to see something different, As of today most if not all cell phones, tablets and other things have squareish icons but oh well)
No way to remove icons (you can add apps to your live screen but not remove the default ones, odd...)
Sound quality isn't the best. (my cell phone sounds better...)
Facebook, Skype & Foursquare missing (the apps were pulled from the psn due to errors, nice sony.)
Google Music not supported in web browser (really? dumb...)


Overall:
Overall its pretty good, Alot different from a PSP and a good upgrade to the dying brand.

Hey everyone! It's a new year and with that we bring some new features to the EpicBattles Community.

First off we've upgraded the community to the latest and greatest forum/blog software (version 4.1.10). You may notice alot has changed, Explore what's new and tell us what you think! One of the neatest things added is the all new Auto Save feature which you guessed it... It auto saves whatever you type when posting a reply, no post or comment :D

Secondly, We continue to fix things. We've fixed the login bar and main forums navigation menus.
Facebook login has finally returned and the notifications menu now works right!

Thirdly the frontpage of our community has been changed a little and fixed. Things should look normal now.

Try out the new features of our community, More will be added throughout this month :)

The cost of war is high at Electronic Arts, but the rewards are even higher.

Battlefield 3, the company's answer to industry juggernaut Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, has burst out of the gate by selling 5 million copies in its first week alone. That's a record for EA and enough to make it the industry's best launch this year -- though it probably won't hold that title for long.

The big numbers for Battlefield 3 soundly beat the launch numbers for Microsoft's Gears of War 3, which sold 3 million copies in its first week on shelves. But the Nov. 8 debut of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is expected to once again set new entertainment industry records.

That won't matter much to EA, though. Selling 5 million copies in one week puts the company on track to exceed analyst forecasts of the game's 2011 sales. Most Wall Street insiders had expected the company to move between 8 and 8.5 million copies before the end of the year. That's likely to encourage investors, who have been looking for a definitive sign that EA has turned the corner after years of less than stellar results.

The competition is about to escalate substantially, however.
Beyond Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield will have to face off against Sony's Uncharted 3 and Microsoft's Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, as well as recent releases that are showing strong retail legs, such as critical smash Batman: Arkham City.

EA has ramped up its marketing machine for Battlefield 3, with an estimated spend of $100 million. The company's even teamed with Bunim/Murray Productions, creators of "The Real World" and "The Challenge," and CBS Interactive division GameSpot to create an online reality show around the game.

The success of Battlefield 3 is unlikely to have a significant impact on Modern Warfare 3 sales, however. That title has a built-in audience and pre-orders of the Activision title have hit record highs for the company, indicating that fans of previous games in the saga are eager to stick with it. Analysts estimate the game will sell 16 million copies this year alone, with strong sales continuing into 2012.

GTA loves L.A.

The first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto V is here, and the rumor mill got it right: we're headed back to Los Angeles -- or GTA's twisted version of it, at least.



So it's clearly set in a modern-day Los Angeles…or should we say, Los Santos. That was the name Rockstar Games gave the L.A.-themed city featured in the best-selling Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and it's pretty obvious we'll be treading on the same ground here. A few famous L.A. locations are referenced, including the Santa Monica Pier (re-dubbed the "Pleasure Pier"), Venice Beach, and of course the Hollywood 'Vinewood' sign.

Clocking in at just a minute and half, the trailer introduces us to, well, a guy. A guy who moved to Los Santos for a better, sunnier life. A guy who then somehow winds up getting into insane car chases and gun fights, we'd reckon, as his life spins wildly out of control purely for our digital amusement.

Though the trailer is pretty vague, we can glean a couple hints at the theme. Financial turmoil seems to play a big role. A foreclosure notice is hammered into the ground. A homeless man begs for change. A tent city is pitched under the freeway. Even the game's logo references the almighty dollar. GTA doesn't shy away from tackling big issues, and these days, it doesn't get any bigger than the economic downturn. Expect that to play a major role in the plot.

Also of note is a quick shot of three hikers about to explore the mountains. That's a far cry from the strictly urban setting of GTA IV, though players did get a little more rural in GTA: San Andreas. Grand Theft Camping Equipment? Sounds awesome!

So when's the game coming out? Your guess is as good as ours, but if recent Rockstar history is any indication, a release late next year certainly isn't out of the question. The company released the debut trailer to L.A. Noire in November of 2010; the game hit shelves in May of 2011.

As with any GTA trailer, this one is bound to be scientifically analyzed by gamers over the next few months. Find any cool clues yourself?

Wish your racing game had rapid fire camera cuts, ridiculous crashes, massive explosions, and Christina Hendricks? EA feels the same way, which is why they hired Michael Bay to direct an epic trailer for their upcoming racer, Need for Speed: The Run.

In case you missed the story amidst all the flipped cars, narrow escapes and helicopter rain guns, the game puts you in the unfortunate shoes of Jack, a guy who owes lots of money to some not-so-nice people. His plan? To nab $25 million by zipping across the country in a risky, illegal, Cannonball Run style race. The job market does suck, after all.

Need for Speed: The Run releases on November 15th.
