3. Meta Gaming
Meta-gaming refers to when you use knowledge said to you outside of the city and using said information to influence your actions in-city. This is strictly prohibited, as it disrupts immersion and fairness. Examples of meta-gaming include:
- Using information from a live stream
- Communicating with another player via external voice/chat services while in the city. (ex: Discord)
- Applying knowledge from one of your characters to another (Your characters shouldn't be sharing information about each other)
4. Power Gaming
Power Gaming refers to the act of forcing another player into a situation or RP scenario without giving them a chance to react or make decisions for their character. Examples of power gaming include:
- Forcing another player to comply with your character’s demands without allowing them a chance to refuse or respond is not allowed.
- Ignoring realistic consequences of your actions.
- Performing actions that are unrealistic or physically impossible for your character
5. Staff interaction
You are never allowed to impersonate staff.
You are not allowed to wear any uniform representing a federal agency (ex: US Marshal), as these may be reserved for staff use only.
- Please note that staff members may be in civilian clothing; even when responding to reports.
Staff members in city can be referred to as: - US Marshal, Marshals Service, Marshals
This is done to maintain immersion as much as possible and allow for more roleplaying opportunities, for this reason, avoid calling us admins, staff members.
6. Triggering Roleplay
Trigger RP refers to roleplay involving sensitive or harmful topics like self-harm, suicide, racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexual harassment, sexual assault, or any content that could cause distress to others.
- Violating this rule will result in consequences as we want to keep this a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
- If it is done intentionally to mock or harm others, it will result in swift actions.
7. Fail RP
Fail RP refers to actions or behaviours that break the immersion of role-play or disregard the logical and realistic actions of your characters. It disrupts the experience for all players and is to be avoided at all cost.
Not Valuing Life (NVL)
When a player engages in reckles actions, disregarding their character’s life is at risk. This is not allowed as characters should act to preserve their lives, avoiding unnecessary risks.
- Jumping off buildings without thinking
- Driving off-road at unrealistic speeds
- Running toward active gunfire without cover or backup
- Refusing to comply at gunpoint during a robbery
The New Life Rule (NLR)
When your character dies (going stage 2 or "seeing the light"), causes them to lose all memory of the events that occurred 30 minutes prior to their death. You cannot return to the location where you died to seek revenge for your death.
Voice IDing
You cannot Identify someone solely by their voice. Proper identification must be based on additional distinguishing features such as, physical appearance, clothing, tattoos, or other recognizable traits of said character
Low Quality RP
The roleplay lacks effort, realism, or immersion. This type of RP disrupts the experience for others and is not acceptable. Examples include:
- Not reacting to injuries properly
- Unrealistic actions
- Failing to roleplay fear (getting robbed for example)
OOC Talking
You must remain in character at all times, unless
specified by Staff;
Staff presence
does not justify you breaking character.
In scenarios with wizards (modders/cheaters) or other unusual situations where it may seem acceptable to break character, you are still expected to remain in character (it is understandable if it slips out just try your best!).
If someone accidentally slips Out Of Character (OOC), advise them that they are doing so, preferably in an immersive way. Examples:
- "What are you saying? I can't understand that."
- "Sorry, I don't speak that language."
- "Is that alien talk?"
8. Green Grass
Green Grass, also known as Safe Zones or Green Zones, are areas where hostile or criminal actions are strictly prohibited. These zones are designed to provide a space for players to interact peacefully without the threat of violence or crime. The following actions are not allowed in those zones:
- Criminal activity (e.g. robbing, kidnapping, holding someone hostage, etc.)
- Brandishing, aiming, or firing weapons
- Hiding from police or enemies during an active scene
Green Grass locations include the following:
- Hospitals
- City Hall
- Fire Stations
- USMS Headquarter
9. Combat Logging
Leaving the city during an active scene you are part of is not allowed as it disrupts immersion and ruins the fun for everyone. Examples of combat logging include
- Leaving while in a police chase or during an arrest
- Leaving while in combat situations
- Leaving during a RP Interaction
If you do need to leave the city to fix a scuff, please inform the other parties involved if possible.
10. Player Reports
When reporting a player, you must provide their ID and a video clip at a minimum. This ensures that staff can take appropriate action and verify the reasoning behind the report. Without footage, we will not be able to validate the report.
Things that should be reported include:
- Trolling
- Harassment, toxicity or other things mentioned in "2. Community Guidelines"
- RDM, VDM
- Exploiting and Modders (Hackers)
11. Miscellaneous Informations
Treat red lights as a stop sign (Stop n' Go). Always stop at red lights, even if no other vehicles are around.
Criminal activity should not be initiated 30 minutes before and or after tsunami (Server Restart). This allows ongoing scenes to finish properly and prevents interruptions and also allows Law Enforcement to get ready.
